Vojna in izgubljeni spomini // War and lost memories

Domen Sajovic, 1. letnik // 1st year

// This collection tries to present war remains which symbolise suffering and loss of human lives. It also represents all the lost memories that were lost with all the lives in wars. Human lives eventually end but nature will remain
forever.

// Empty streets of an unknown town may seem way to big or cold, so focusing on just geometrical part of the picture can make it way more beautiful, but in black and white also keep melancholy of Covid-19 situation and that’s how idea for these photos was born. On this collage are photos of parts of staircases in Nova Gorica made for black and white homework assignment for Photography class, mentor Ana Sluga.

// The idea was to show complementary contrast, in this case red and green, in a different way.

S serijo sem želela prikazati skrito lepoto industrijskih con. // With this collection I wanted to explore the hidden beauty of industrial zones. I searched for beautiful vibrant colors within a gray – looking area that is in fact full of life.

Gledalcu prepusti izbiro doživljanja teme in njenih skritih barv. // Despite the darkness of night, we can always find some colors standing out and lighting up in the shadows of common places in life, be that in the park, on the street, or in your bedroom. The colors can be comforting and warm or intimidating and cold. It can make the dark seem less scary and alive or it could raise the tension and make it eerier than it already is. It’s up to the viewer how they perceive the dark and its hidden colors.
